When in Delhi

Jayanto Banerjee was born in Lucknow and lived in a house next to a zoo. He has been drawing and cartooning since he was a child and one of his favourites from his own work is the monthly comic strip ‘Gardhab Das’ that he used to illustrate with his brother, Neelabh, for the iconic children’s magazine Target. Over the years, Jayanto has worked with The Times of India, India Week, India Today and The Asian Age. For the past ten years he has been working with Hindustan Times as Assistant Editor.

An avid reader, Nainy has a keen interest in art and literature. She loves reading books by Sukumar Ray and Abanindranath Tagore, her all time favourites. Her other musings include failed attempts at drawing, a strong fixation with the river and an uncanny relationship with her pen. It took her a while before she realised that her calling was in fact writing books for children. Mamta Nainy is a children's book editor. She also moonlights as a writer and has a number of books to her credit. She loves travelling but is too lazy to do it, so she makes do with reading.
