
Bruno Liljefors (1860–1939) was a prominent Swedish wildlife painter and one of the early comic creators in Sweden. He is renowned for his realistic yet impressionistic depictions of birds and other wildlife. Liljefors often painted from life and kept various animals, such as foxes and hares, at home for inspiration. His 1908 painting Winter Hare is among his most famous works. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts and created some of the earliest Swedish comic books. In the late 1890s, Liljefors showcased his work at the Paris Salon. He passed away 1939, in Stockholm, Sweden.
