Aileen Fisher (1906–2002) was an American author and poet renowned for her contributions to children’s literature. She wrote more than 100 books of poetry and prose, often drawing on nature, childhood emotions, and everyday experiences. Fisher received major literary honours, including the Newbery Award. Her clear, musical language made her work especially popular in classrooms and libraries. Her writing continues to be valued for its warmth, simplicity, and lasting appeal among readers of all ages worldwide. She passed away in 2002.
