Vibha Rani

Rani is a writer in two Indian languages, Hindi and Maithili. She is a translator, journalist, radio artist and script writer for documentaries and TV serials, she has more than 20 books in her name. A voice-over artist, folk singer, playwright and theatre personality, she has contributed regularly in leading Maithili and Hindi dailies and magazines like Navbharat Times, Jansatta, Mithilia Mihir and Aarambh. She has also written scripts for Films Division and Zee TV. Being a strong believer of theatre and art for all, apart from various socio-cultural organisations like Virat Kalodbhav, she has associated herself with Avitoko, a multi-functional institution working in the field of art, theatre, literature, culture, education and training. Her book, Band Kamre ka Koras won the Ghanshyam Das Saraf Sahitya Samman. Her other awards include Katha Award, Mohan Rakesh Samman and Sahityasevi Samman to name a few. Her translated works have been published by Vani Prakashan and Bharatiya Jnanpith among others.
