Pravin Patkar is a writer, academic and human rights activist, who won the Maharashtra State Award in 1992 for his work Fieldwork and the Shree Da Panwalkar Award in 1991 for the Best Collection of Short Stories. He is a professional social worker and the founder of a globally recognized NGO, Prerana, for child protection and anti-human trafficking.
