Poornachandra Tejaswi was a Kannada novelist, photographer, environmentalist and painter who was a prominent figure in the Navya movement in Kannada literature. He is a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1987 for Chidambara Rahasya and the Kannada Sahitya Akademi Award multiple times for various works.
