Intizar Husain (1923–2016) was one of the most prolific and talented Pakistani writers. Best known among Urdu readers as a master of short story, he also wrote novels, novellas, biographies and plays. He received numerous literary awards in both India and Pakistan. He was a columnist for Dawn, Pakistan’s largest-circulated English daily. He passed away in 2016.
