Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi (1916–2006) was a prominent Pakistani Urdu poet, short story writer, critic, and editor. Associated with the Progressive Writers’ Movement, his work emphasized humanism, social justice, and rural life in Punjab. He edited the influential literary journal Funoon and mentored many modern Urdu writers. Qasimi’s poetry and fiction combined emotional depth with social realism, earning him major literary awards and lasting recognition in Urdu literature. He passed away in 2006.
