Asha Bage is a Marathi novelist. She was awarded with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006 for her novel Bhoomi.

Binapani Mohanty is an eminent name in Indian literature in Oriya language. She is a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1990 for her short story collection Patdei.

Githa Hariharan has worked for several years in publishing, first as an editor in a publishing house and subsequently as a freelancer. She is the author of The Thousand Faces of Night which won the Commonwealth Writers Prize for the Best First Book in 1993.

Indira Goswami, also known as Mamoni Raisom Goswami, has written fifteen novels, hundreds of short stories and several research papers. Among her major novels are Nilkanthi Broja, Ahiron, Mamore Dhara Tarowal and Tej Aru Dhulire Dhusarita Pristha. She has been honoured with several national and international awards for her creative writings, including the Katha Award for Creative Fiction, the Bharatiya Jnanpith Award, the Sahitya Akademi Award and the International Jury Award for the film Adarya  based on her novel Une Khowa Hawda. She is presently the Head of the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, University of Delhi.

Lakshmi Kannan writes in both English and Tamil. Her publications include fiction in Tamil under the pen-name Kaaveri, and collections of poems in English. She studied American and English literatures at the Universities of Delhi, Jadhavpur and California, and wrote her PhD dissertation on the Nobel laureate Saul Bellow. She was Writer-in-Residence with the Department of Postcolonial Literatures at the University of Kent at Canterbury, and participated in the International Writing Program in Iowa, USA.

Mannu Bhandari took up writing in 1952, the year she received her MA in Hindi from Benaras Hindu University, and soon became a forerunner of the Nai Kahani Movement. With eight collections of short stories, three novels, two plays and three children's books to her credit, she is one of the foremost writers in Hindi today.

Phul Goswami is a teacher by profession. Her career as a creative writer began in the late 1950s with poetic contribution to various children's magazines. She started writing short stories as a way of jotting down her feelings about mundane day-to-day happenings. About fifty of her stories have been published. Books and films are her passion, as are old melodies in Asomiya, Bangla and Hindi.
