Arun Mhatre is a Marathi poet, songwriter and commentator.

Ashok Srinivasan began writing at the tender age of 14, and published his first collection of short stories at 72. His works gained great acclaim, leading to him winning The Hindu Prize in 2014.

Bhupendra Narayan Bhattacharya is a painter and short story writer based in Guwahati. He has received several awards for his short stories which have been translated from Assamese into Hindi.

Dilip Chitre is a bilingual writer with numerous publications in different literary genres including poetry, fiction, plays, screenplays, essays, and criticism to his credit. A winner of the Katha Award for Creative Fiction, the Sahitya Akademi Award for Ekoon Kavita-1 and the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize for Says Tuka, he has won an award for his film Godam at the Festival des Trois Continents at Nantes, France. He is a practising painter and lives in Pune.

Fakir Muhammad Katpadi is actively associated with Samudaya, a radical-progressive cultural movement in Karnataka.

Madhurantakam Rajaram was a teacher by profession. He had won the Sahitya Akademi Best Story Award. Among his publications are the novels Trisankudi Svargam (1970), Chinna Prapandcham- Sirivada (1972) and four anthologies of short stories.

Rekha has specialised in English literature and has been affiliated with the English Department, University of Shimla.

Sarah Joseph is the author of several collections of short stories including Papathara and Kadinte Sangeetham and the novel Nanmathinmakalude Vriksham. An activist, she formed the first feminist theatre group in Kerala and has directed Stree, an anti-dowry play. She has also served as a Professor of Malayalam in the Government Victoria College, Palghat.

Sarat Kumar Mukhopadhyay, a major Bangla poet, critic and fiction writer, wrote under the pseudonym Trishanku. He served as a counsellor in the Creative Writing Programme of the Indira Gandhi National Open University in Calcutta.

One of the most versatile of contemporary Tamil writers, Sundara Ramaswamy, fondly called Suraa, brought about a new wave in Tamil literature. Despite the fact that he received no formal education, he was adept in Tamil, Malayalam, English and Sanskrit. His creative genius manifested it self through his work, cutting across genres – short stories, novels, poems, essays, criticism and translation. He wrote poetry under the pseudonym Pasuviah.

Surendra Prakash is a Sahitya Akademi Award winner. His works include Doosre Aadmi Ka Drawing Room, Baraf Par Makalma and the award-winning anthology, Baz Goyi.

T Padmanabhan is a short story writer in Malayalam. He is a winner of several literary awards, including the Ezuthachan Puraskaram, the highest literary award of the Government of Kerala. He also declined the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1973, the Odakuzzhal Award in 1995 and the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1996.
